When you start looking for bunny names for your pet rabbit, you may be surprised to find that there are lists and lists of these names. This means that bunnies are very popular pets. They make excellent pets and you can keep them in the house instead of having to keep them outdoors in a pen. Giving the bunny a name is a difficult decision because you want it to be one that will match the rabbit and its personality as well as one that you like and find easy to use. Experts will tell you that the name should contain the hard sounding consonants because this one will be easier for the bunny to learn and it is important for your pet to know its own name.

Peer Cottontail is famous bunny in rhyme and story, so Cottontail is a commonly used name for a pet bunny. From this rhyme you can also get names such as Thumper, Flopsy, and Mopsy. Even though you may have a name in mind that you would really like to use, it is best to wait until you have the bunny at home with you for a few days so you can study its habits. This way you get to see different characteristics of the pet that will give you a hint as to a suitable name. For example, if your bunny likes to sleep a lot, you might choose a name such as Sleepy or Dopey. If it munches loudly on the leaves you feed it, a good name could be Munchy. Hoppy, Hopalong and Hoppity are names that aer often used for these pets as well.

Since the fur of a pet bunny is very soft you might want to think of names that describe how it feels, such as Satin, Silk, Velevt, Smoothy, Fuzzy or Furry. You can use the names of your favorite coffee drink, which would aptly describe the color of the bunny. These could include such names as Hazelnut, Cappuccino, Mocha or Vanilla Cre. Instead of naming the bunny Blacky, Whitey or Brownie, choose more exotic sounding names for the colors. Below are some examples of choices:

Black: Midnight, Tar, Coal, Pitch, Ace, Zero

White: Angel, Cottonball. Cloud, Powder, Ice, Salt, Sugar.

Brown: Chocolate, Hershey, Candy Bar, Cocoa, Chip

Silver: Steel, Stainless, Remington, Tweed , Carbon

When it comes to naming a bunny, you can choose the names of flowers, cars, movie or cartoon characters or you can think of names to describe its size, such as Tiny, Itsy-Bitsy, Tall One and others.

If you plan to train the bunny, and this is a must if you plan to keep it in the house, you should not choose a name that the bunny may confuse with training words. Mop, for example, rhymes with Stop, so the bunny may get the two words confused. The same thing applies to naming the bunny Row, which rhymes with No and Go. You should also choose a name that is easy to pronounce because you will have to use it many times a day.
